The rollercoaster of early parenthood

The first few weeks of parenthood can be full of highs and lows, both physical and emotional, especially if this is your first baby.

Your body is still recovering from a substantial physical trauma, while you are coping with the demands of your little one. Nutrition, herbal medicine and acupuncture can all be of substantial help during this time. For example, helping to:

  • Relieve any lingering pain and discomfort from the birth
  • Coping with tiredness, anxiety, irritability or even panic attacks that you may be feeling
  • Lifting your mood, or helping you cope with worries about the health of your baby, your other children, yourself, or family and friends
  • Dealing with common post-natal symptoms like ‘foggy’ vision or a ‘mussy’ head
  • Difficulty getting to sleep, or waking up in a panic or feeling ill – either in the night or early in the morning
  • Feeling overwhelmingly weary / tired all the time even when you do get enough sleep

Natasha Rothery, Milton Keynes

I suffer with PCOS and had been unable to get pregnant after 3 years of trying, despite being prescribed a variety of western drugs. Gerard was immediately reassuring, he reviewed the tests my hospital had ordered and proposed a course of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Two-and-a-half months later I was pregnant, and last month my beautiful little son was born. Thank you so much Gerard!
