My shoulder hurts – what have I done to it?!
Many different muscles control shoulder movement and in fact the shoulder joint itself is made up of more than one joint! This complicated structure therefore is prone to many different pain problems and it is the set of muscles called the rotator cuff that can develop tendonitis, bursitis or impingement pain patterns.
I don’t want it to develop into a ‘frozen shoulder’…
Injury or inflammation to soft tissue can be a precursor to a more chronic problem, so it is important to get treatment asap. We use Chinese physical therapy – Tui Na massage – and acupuncture to restore motion to the shoulder and aid in healing. You also will be given stretching and strengthening exercises based on Eastern Body movement.
